Did you know that February is CTE Month? It is!!! What is CTE, you ask?
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a vital educational pathway that equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary for high-wage, high-demand careers. CTE encompasses a diverse range of industry-specific fields, including health care, cyber security, firefighting, educational pathways, heavy equipment operations, and many other exciting careers!
CTE offers various educational experiences, including classroom instruction, certification programs, concurrent enrollment (college courses), and work-based learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom setting. This multifaceted approach ensures that students are well-prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities of today's dynamic job market.
On February 5th, the Maine Department of Education-Career and Technical Education recognized CTE high school centers by inviting them to present a display in the Hall of Flags.. Lt. John Brooks Firefighting Teacher) and Ms. Rachel O'Toole (School Counselor) represented WRVC. They enjoyed meeting legistators and other Maine CTE students and staff members. It was a fantastic experience!
Happy CTE month! If you have a trade, you have it made!!!
