WMS is proud to partner with The Wild Seed Project on some very important learning for our students. The Wild Seed Project joined WMS in the fall for lessons focused on local ecology here on our campus. Nell Houde from Wild Seed Project engaged our entire 8th grade in a continuing science project focused on local ecology. Nell taught students about the local flora on our campus and they planted native seeds that they collected in the fall. Nell returned in May to complete
the project with our 8th grade. Students again learned to identify local plants, this time focusing on invasive species that are on our campus. After tagging invasive plants the classes got to work cutting, digging, and pulling these plants out. After clearing areas, they worked to plant the native seeds that they had potted in the fall.
