Cougar

Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a great week. Here are some updates for this week:

  1. Today is an early release day, so students will be dismissed starting at 2:20!

  2. Tomorrow (Thursday) is also an early release day, but students will be dismissed at 11:20. Westbrook Learns will not be happening tomorrow, so please have a plan for your child to be picked up or take a bus.

  3. Parent teacher conferences are currently taking place! We look forward to having you come into Congin (or attend virtually) to see all of your child's progress so far this year!

  4. Yesterday was election day! Our 3rd and 4th grade students participated in a mock election where they took turns registering students and then students were able to vote! The students had a great time and we announced the winners at the end of the school day.

  5. We will not have school on November 11th for Veterans Day.

  6. Want to help our cougars get to school safely? We are looking for a school traffic control officer. If interested,

    please apply at this link.

  7. Our PTO is having a spirit wear sale until November 15th. If you would like to purchase any items,

    here is the link!

  8. Author Kelly Starling Lyons will be coming to our school on November 15th to talk to our Congin cougars! She will also be having an author night at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center at 5:45 for any families that would like to attend!

  9. We will be having a PTO meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at 5:30 in the Congin Cafeteria for any parents that would like to attend!

  10. Thank you to everyone who has been contacting the office prior to 1pm with any afternoon changes for students. If you end up sending an email to your child's teacher with any scheduling changes, please also add our administrative assistant, Stacy Symbol (symbols@westbrookschools.org), so that she is also aware of the change.

  11. Our cougars are still working on our theme of gratitude by earning gratitude feathers, and they are giving feathers to adults at school that they appreciate. Our Den Ambassadors recently counted our feathers, and we are at 182 feathers! We have a goal of 300 by the end of the month!

  12. It's a great day to be a cougar!

Sincerely,

Marc Bisson
