A Message From the Superintendent
Dr. Reza Namin
Welcome to the Westbrook School Department, Westbrook,
Maine. I believe in the importance of a school district where the District
is an integral part of the community and that community support is necessary
for the District's operation and achievement of excellence.
My goals as your new superintendent are to engage all students in
challenging programs that will meet their individual needs, create and
sustain an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation within the entire
school community, develop and nurture dynamic partnerships with the greater
community, and to build organizational structures which support effective
teaching and learning at all developmental levels while maintaining fiscal
responsibility. I am confident that through our collaboration, we will build
a common purpose for the future of our school district. I am looking
forward to hearing from you soon.

Maine's Governor John Baldacci presented
Dr. Reza Namin, Superintendent of Westbrook Schools the 2010 Maine Public
Utilities Commission/Efficiency Maine's Hastings Award in a ceremony held on
June 10, 2010 at the Maine State House.

Westbrook School Department Special Education
Record Destruction: The Westbrook School Department plans to
destroy special education records of former students whose birth dates are
between January 1, 1983 and December 31, 1983. Parents/Guardians and/or
former students may obtain their records before August 31, 2010. Records
not picked up will be destroyed. Proper identification will be required.

round of administrative restructuring plan that would lead to have no
increases in taxes and reduce local contribution by $2000.

Regional Vocational Center Partnership with Portland
School Department: Dr. Reza Namin, Superintendent of
Westbrook Schools has formed an advisory task force, in partnership with the
Portland School Department to reduce administration at the two regional
vocational schools, combine duplicated programs and expand the variety of
courses offered to students from close to two dozen schools throughout
southern Maine.
